Reflexology
The human foot is the end of 7,200 nerves that connect directly to the brain and, at the same time, to all parts of the body. Reflexology or “zonal” therapy – is a non-invasive therapy designed to promote deep relaxation and bring overall balance to body and mind.
Reflexology main technique include pressing on appropriate areas of the body surface called reflexes, which are located on the feet, hands and face. Reflexes are believed to have a direct connection to all glands, organs and parts of the body.
Reflexology works well alongside conventional medical care. Healthcare professionals often integrate reflexology as part of a holistic approach to patient care, recognising the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and mental health.

Benefits
Reflexology is believed to offer several potential benefits, including:
– Stress reduction
– Improved circulation
– Pain relief
– Enhanced wellbeing
– Better sleep
However, it’s essential to note that individual experiences with reflexology can vary, and it’s not a substitute for medical treatment.
How The Treatment Looks Like?
This is a unique method of “walking” over the reflex points with a thumb and fingers. Reflexology is not acupressure or massage. It is walking with the thumb and fingers across the foot (or hand), with a uniform force of pressure with a variable angle of action, passing in sequence the healthy, sick places to the healthy place.
The reflexology treatment consists in a thorough therapeutic “transition” of the entire foot. In the case of a healthy organism without any ailments, the treated foot does not give any painful sensations and is the same feeling throughout. In the case of any visual changes (different colour of the epidermis, calluses) or areas causing pain, it signals to us the presence of a problem.
Reflexology lymph drainage
Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is a specialised reflexology technique that stimulates specific lymphatic reflexes on the feet. It is primarily used to manage secondary lymphoedema resulting from breast cancer treatment, but has also shown to be effective for primary lymphoedema.
RLD helps reduce fluid build-up in affected limbs by promoting lymphatic drainage. The technique has delivered significant results for lymphoedema sufferers and has been used to treat other conditions such as arthritis, chronic fatigue, sinus problems, and muscular tension.
RLD has been researched and developed by Sally Kay and has been shown to be highly significant in published research. The technique can be used in a similar way to Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
What are the benefits of Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD)?
Enhanced Lymphatic Function
RLD helps to improve lymphatic flow, aiding in the removal of toxins, waste products, and excess fluid from the body. This can contribute to reduced swelling, improved immune function, and increased vitality.
Stress Relief
By activating the parasympathetic nervous system, RLD induces a deep state of relaxation, reducing stress and anxiety. This can lead to improved sleep, mental clarity, and a greater sense of calm.
Pain Management
RLD has been found to be effective in alleviating pain associated with conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and chronic fatigue syndrome. By reducing inflammation and promoting circulation, it can provide natural relief and support overall pain management.
Hormonal Balance
RLD has shown promising results in supporting hormonal balance, particularly in women experiencing symptoms related to menopause, PMS, or fertility issues. By stimulating the endocrine reflexes, it may help regulate hormone production and alleviate associated discomfort.
Improved Digestion
RLD can aid in optimizing digestive function by stimulating reflex points related to the digestive system. This may help alleviate symptoms of bloating, constipation, and indigestion, promoting a healthier gut.

Reflexology Bristol. What Can You Expect From Your First Visit?
The foot reflexology treatment takes about 60 minutes.
The first visit is usually longer due to the need to interview the client. Its purpose is, among others determining the current state of health, determining possible contraindications, familiarising with client’s lifestyle, the diet, etc. The procedure is performed in a reclining position and covers the feet up to the knee. The treatment consists of 3 parts:
Warm up massage – gently relaxing and stretching the muscles, tendons and joints of the foot
The therapeutic part – thumb walking and pressing the various points, stimulation of appropriate reflexes on the entire feet (sole, back and sides)
Relaxation and grounding – to close out the treatment.
The touch in the reflexology treatment is firm and firm, therefore it does not cause tickles. Greater sensitivity and pain of certain reflexes that may appear during the procedure indicates an imbalance in the corresponding area of the body.
With time, after subsequent visits, thanks to the following healing process, the sensitivity of reflexes decreases and the client feels more and more pleasure during the procedure.
